Dr Yeong Che Fai is a senior lecturer in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. He is a keen inventor and has invented many interesting award-winning products. He has won multiple awards since 2002. He has led Malaysia team in ROBOCON for 5 years. He was the winner of 'Philips of Young Inventor Challenge' for two consecutive years in Year 2005 and 2006 with the product title 'Beep-Me! a system to alert bus arrival' and 'Talking Glove for deaf people'. In 2013 alone, he has bagged more than 30 awards including 3 awards at British Invention Show (BIS) 2013 in London. The awards are the top prize 'World Invention Award 2013', 'Diamond Award' and 'Gold Medal'. Dr Yeong is keenly involved in commercialization of research work and has established three spin-off companies (www.dfautomation.com, www.cr2connect.com and www.redeincor.com). He is also active in research work focusing in robotics, rehabilitation, embedded system and sensors which he has collaboration with other institutes and industries. To date, he has secured more than RM2 million to conduct research and commercialization.
