Specification
Specifications
Electrokinetic microchannel and membrane desalination battery.
This invention relates to a device that performs three functions which are water purification, water desalination and electricity generation.
When using tap water there is a lot of hydro potential that can be used to generate electricity.
However, the use of an electrokinetic micro channel battery can reduce wastage by generating an electrical current from the hydrostatic potential of the water in taps or other sources of water. It purifies the water passing through the battery and if the water is salty it also desalinates the water. Current devices simply purify water and do not generate electricity whereas this product does all of these functions plus more. In addition, desalination operations are costly and require complicated processes of reverse osmosis and at least an electrical current. This product uses the energy from the water to generate the current and can partially desalinate water. If the water is run through the device a few more times it is completely desalinated.
The water passes through a permeable membrane which can be naturally occurring or artificially created. This water is usually ionized and the micro channels cause the ions to split and collect at either ends of the electrodes to form a charge thus forming a current. This current can be collected in a lithium battery or rewired back to the national grid.
The battery can be fitted at the end of taps with sophisticated design details to make for a modern interior design and function.
The battery can be fitted at the base of tap systems under the sink for a clean, tidy put away image.
The battery can be attached onto dishwashers and washing machines. Any household appliances which use water to generate electricity.
The battery can be used in desalination plants where there are industrial processes of desalination.
The battery can also be fitted in water supplies when buildings are in construction stage.
