Product Year :
The invention provides a process for extractive fermentation using integrated aqueous two-phase system for the simultaneous upstream of microbial fermentation 5 and downstream processing of extracellular lipase derived from burkholderia sp. The medium used for this extractive fermentation comprises components of fermentation media and a composition for aqueous two-phase system (ATPS).
The two-phase dermentation system was used to extract extracellular lipase, which is produced continuously from the bacteria.
The extractive 10 fermentation includes the steps of (a) preparing an immiscible medium, wherein the medium includes fermentation media and ATPS forming reagents; (b) inoculating Burkholderia sp. into the medium as prepared in step (a); (c) agitating the medium prepared from step (b); (d) separating the medium from step (c) into two-phases for extracellular lipase purification; and (e) recovering the extracellular lipase from the medium.
